If not for Maggie, Neil MacKean might still be back in Scotland, bereft and alone。 Instead, he has a full life in Muir Harbor with an adopted family he loves and a blueberry farm to run。 But the farm is struggling and strange occurrences have him concerned。 Worse, Maggie's once again caught up in the past, convinced she's finally found her long-lost granddaughter。

Worried for Maggie, Neil is suspicious of the city girl who shows up at the farm。 But there's something about Sydney that tugs on him, drawing out secrets he never meant to share。 While Neil grapples with the future of the farm, Sydney wrestles with a past that's messier than ever。 Together, they're pulled into a mystery complete with a centuries-old legend, unexpected danger 。 。 。 and a love as deep and wild as the sea。

I "just one more chapter"ed my way through the last third of the book and stayed up past 1 AM finishing it。 Those who may have only read some of her earliest works will enjoy how her character development and story crafting has matured。 You will love spending time with Sydney, Neil, and Maggie in Muir Harbor! Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to pre-read and review this delightful book! 。。。more

Everyone wants to feel loved and connected。 It’s no different for Sydney as she searches for her family。 On her journey she finds a connection with a ragtag group that aren’t sure they want to include her at first。 Can she find the love and acceptance she desires? You have to read the book to find out。 I’ve read it twice now and loved it each time。 This is a wonderful clean romance。 Although I hate that I have to wait for book 2!

The stellar cast of supporting characters added much to the story, and I have a feeling some will be starring in their own books soon。 “From her place of deepest hurt, God had brought something amazing。 Something she never could’ve expected。”This story has intrigue, suspense, a big dash of romance, and a big dose of inspiration and healing。 There’s a bit of a cliffhanger at the end with some loose ends that I’m sure will be all tied up in future books in the series。 I recommend this to those who enjoy well-written, absorbing contemporary romance。 4。5 starsI voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy。 All opinions are my own。 。。。more

A heartwarming story about a family that was created out of love rather than blood。 A young woman who grew up within the foster care system is approached by a man who believes he could have answers about her birth family。 In finding answers, she learns about family and love。 Characters are dynamic and enjoyable contributing to an even better storyline。

Autumn by the Sea is another delicious contemporary romance by one of all-time favourite authors。 Seriously。 Melissa Tagg never disappoints。 Autumn by the Sea is the perfect blend of mystery, romance, longing for family and meant to be。 The characters just worm their way into your heart。 The setting is rugged and charming。 And that meet cute?!!?? Seriously?!? So cute。 Sydney Rose has only ever wanted a family and somewhere to belong。 Maybe that’s why when a stranger approaches her and tells her that he thinks she’s the long-lost granddaughter of Margaret Muir, Sydney Rose jumps on a plane to Maine to discover if maybe, just maybe, she has a family after all。 Sydney was not expecting the charming, if a little in need of some love, house on the coast, or Maggie, with her heart so welcoming and so hurt by the past。 Nor was Sydney expecting Maggie’s three adopted adult children who are not exactly excited to see Sydney。 Just it only takes days for Sydney to feel at home。 If she and Neil, Maggie’s eldest adopted and the one holding Muir Farm together, can uncover the truth of the past, maybe Sydney could stay and find her place to belong。Autumn by the Sea is truly a delightful novel。 I really enjoyed the mix of mystery in the book。 Not only is Sydney trying to uncover the truth of her heritage, mystery surrounds Maggie’s daughter’s disappearance, as well as the strange occurrences around the farm that have Neil worried。 The romance between Neil and Sydney is incredibly touching。 They are not quite enemies to lovers, but they don’t have the smoothest start。 Once they get past their initial meeting (beat that meet-cute, I dare you), Neil doesn’t hide his dislike of Sydney’s appearance in his life。 He has enough to worry about。 But as Sydney learns more about the farm and everything that Neil is doing to keep his family afloat, Sydney’s admiration for him shines through and it isn’t long before they are seeing where things lead between them。 Theirs is a very short courtship, but it works。 Maybe it’s the depth of what they share with each other or just the Melissa Tagg’s ability to bring them both to the page and bring their chemistry and connection to life that it makes everything so believable。 There is a lot more to the story than just the romance and the mystery behind Sydney’s family。 Neil’s siblings, relationships and even Maggie herself have secrets and more hurt in their past to sort out。 The teaser at the end has me just desperate for the next book and I sense that a certain family legacy story is going to resurface。 Another beautiful book to savour, perfect for contemporary romance fans who love books with lots of heart。 The publishers provided an advanced readers copy of this book for reviewing purposes。 All opinions are my own。Find more reviews, reading age guides, content advisory, and recommendations on my blog Madison's Library 。。。more

I could see this being turned into a tv drama miniseries。 You’ve got location (Maine blueberry farm), plenty of family dynamics at play, and an overreaching mystery that’s going to have you coming back for the next book (or, you know, episode of someone agree with me about the miniseries thing)。

This was an enjoyable story set in a tiny seaside town in Maine and a blueberry farm that is struggling a bit, together with a family, none of whom are blood relatives。Sydney was abandoned as a toddler, but found who she thought was her mother as she was dying, so has no family apart from a foster brother who she always seems to be bailing out of trouble。 So when a private investigator reaches out and says he thinks she may be the missing 'granddaughter' of his client Maggie she is initially sce This was an enjoyable story set in a tiny seaside town in Maine and a blueberry farm that is struggling a bit, together with a family, none of whom are blood relatives。Sydney was abandoned as a toddler, but found who she thought was her mother as she was dying, so has no family apart from a foster brother who she always seems to be bailing out of trouble。 So when a private investigator reaches out and says he thinks she may be the missing 'granddaughter' of his client Maggie she is initially sceptical, but eventually agrees to visit to see if it may be true。While there she meets her supposed grandmother, Maggie, who owns the blueberry farm and has three children (all adults), none of whom are related by blood。 The mystery surrounding Sydney is slowly revealed and, without giving anything away, isn't quite what everyone expected。There's a slow burning romance between Sydney and Neil, one of Maggie's 'children' who runs the blueberry farm and keeps everything on track and, after a rocky start, they get closer and provide support for one another。There were a few things that niggled me a bit, Neil hiding work he was doing on the farm and the financial state they were in, and Maggie not being receptive to new ideas。 But they kind of grew on me。 I didn't realise initially it was classed as a 'Christian' book and whilst there were references it wasn't too much。 It did end with an intriguing situation though, and one that will definitely be in the next book and follow on the story。 So sort of a stand-alone story, but one where if you really enjoyed it you'd definitely want to read the next book。 。。。more

Melissa Tagg has a way of drawing the reader in to a new place, a new adventure, and feel like you’re right along for the ride。Autumn by the Sea is no exception。 From its gripping opening, intrigue around who Sydney Rose is, and a place that looks the perfect picture of sanctuary in a seaside town in Maine, I was hooked。I have always wanted to visit Maine so I was delighted to in the pages of this book。 Add to it a group of people who give hints to future books in the series and I was there。The Melissa Tagg has a way of drawing the reader in to a new place, a new adventure, and feel like you’re right along for the ride。Autumn by the Sea is no exception。 From its gripping opening, intrigue around who Sydney Rose is, and a place that looks the perfect picture of sanctuary in a seaside town in Maine, I was hooked。I have always wanted to visit Maine so I was delighted to in the pages of this book。 Add to it a group of people who give hints to future books in the series and I was there。The meet cute was in traditional Melissa Tagg style and one I’d love to see on the big screen (I’d have popcorn and all the laughs)。 The romance was sweet and sigh inducing。All in all, a fantastic start to a new series。*I received a complimentary copy from the publisher。 My review was not required nor influenced。 。。。more

Wow, this book was amazing! I love how Melissa was able to capture the beautiful autumn season and the magic of a seaside town in Maine。 She truly has a way with words。 From the very first page to the very end, I was captivated。 I couldn't put it down。 I was so sad when I finished it。 I can't wait for the next book。 As always, I am always falling in love with her male leads。 Keep up the good work, Melissa! What a wonderful read! This is a story that when you finish, you have a smile on your face and feel an ahh moment。 A family is not just a family by blood but also by choice and love。 Maggie Muir lost her love to war before they could marry。 She has created her own family through fostering and adopting children, now adults。 But her first daughter died while home after being gone over two years。 She had a baby girl with her that Maggie did not know about。 But she disappeared。 Maggie has searched f What a wonderful read! This is a story that when you finish, you have a smile on your face and feel an ahh moment。 A family is not just a family by blood but also by choice and love。 Maggie Muir lost her love to war before they could marry。 She has created her own family through fostering and adopting children, now adults。 But her first daughter died while home after being gone over two years。 She had a baby girl with her that Maggie did not know about。 But she disappeared。 Maggie has searched for many years for baby Cynthia, employing a PI and now his son, Wilder Monroe, Maggie's son's best friend。 Maybe Sidney Rose, living in Chicago, is that baby girl。 So after some convincing by Wilder, Sidney goes to the Maine coast to see if the family she always wanted is with Maggie。 But the mystery of if she is that baby girl is still a question and the queries continue。 Who is the father? Sidney has to endure suspicion from the adult children who want to protect Maggie。 It is fun to watch as Sidney gradually works her way into the family and especially her relationship with Neil, who came to Maggie from Scotland and is the one who works the Muir land and blueberry farm。 We also get a glimpse into each of the daughters and I already look forward to reading their story。 This rich and multilayered story has love, loyalty, romance, and faith threaded with suspense, tension, and mystery。For those who enjoy family relationships and romance with faith and mystery, this is a wonderful read。I received a complimentary ARC from Larkspur Press via NetGalley。 All thoughts expressed are mine only。 。。。more

This is my first time reading a Melissa Tagg book, and now I’m sad it took me this long! Tagg creates characters that jump of the pages。 While reading you almost feel as though you’re part of the Muir family, and what a family to be a part of!The chemistry between Sydney and Neil builds and builds into something so beautiful, so fun, so enthralling。 I’m sure I had a goofy grin on my face reading some of the stand out moments between the two。 The mystery adds a bit of intrigue to this romantic bo This is my first time reading a Melissa Tagg book, and now I’m sad it took me this long!
